About This Used Rode VideoMic NTG in Like New Condition
The RODE VideoMic NTG is a hybrid analog/USB shotgun microphone designed for camera mounting on DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. It features a supercardioid polar pattern with focused directivity to capture clean, detailed audio while rejecting ambient noise from the sides and rear. The microphone offers continuously variable gain control, a -20 dB pad, selectable bass roll-off at 75 Hz or 150 Hz, and a high-frequency boost for enhanced clarity.
The VideoMic NTG operates on an internal USB-rechargeable battery providing up to 30 hours of runtime and includes a selectable safety channel that records a secondary -20 dB output to prevent distortion from unexpected loud sources. It functions as both an analog microphone via its 3.5 mm TRRS output (no adapters required) and as a full USB microphone with 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio conversion, offering stereo headphone monitoring through the same 3.5 mm jack when in USB mode. The microphone is MFi-certified for Lightning-equipped iOS devices and comes with a Rycote Lyre-style shockmount, foam windscreen, and cable management system for reliable mounting on cameras or boompoles.
